US country singer Lynn Anderson dies, aged 67

  • Lynn Anderson, the US country singer best known for her 1971 number '(I Never Promised You a) Rose Garden', has died at the age of 67.

    She suffered a heart attack in a hospital where she had been admitted.

    Her other popular songs included ‘You're My Man’ and ‘Top of the World’.

    The North Dakota-born Anderson started performing as a child. She worked for television from 1967, and that experience helped her bag a contract with Colombia Records.
