UK songstress Adele picks up two Ivor Novello awards

  • UK singer Adele has won two prizes at the Ivor Novello songwriting awards.

The star was named songwriter of the year and her song Rolling in the Deep was the most performed work of 2011.

The annual awards, now in their 57th year, are highly regarded within the industry because songwriters and composers vote them for.

Accepting her award from Annie Lennox, a tearful Adele told the audience she had learned from the reviews of her first album and chose to equally focus on her lyrics and vocals.
