Tony Awards broadcast attracts 7.2 million viewers

Sunday's broadcast of the annual Tony Awards drew in 7.2 million viewers, CBS said on Monday.
The three-hour show that honors the best of Broadway scored its best ratings since 2009. Viewership was up by 20 percent compared to last year.
The ceremony was hosted by How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris for a fourth time and featured appearances by Tom Hanks, Jake Gyllenhaal and Scarlett Johansson.
American musical Kinky Boots dominated the night, winning four awards including best musical and best score for pop star Cyndi Lauper.
