The Devil Wears Prada sequel set for 2013 release

  • A sequel to The Devil Wears Prada is to be published in April next year by HarperCollins.

Lauren Weisberger, the author of the 2003 bestseller, has confirmed she is working on Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns, which will continue to follow the life of former magazine assistant Andy Sachs.

The story is set eight years after the first book and will see Andy, now a bridal magazine editor, once again come face to face with her old boss, Miranda Priestly.

The Devil Wears Prada was adapted into a Hollywood film in 2006 and starred Anne Hathaway as Andy. It earned more than $300 million worldwide.

Meryl Streep was nominated for an Oscar for her role as Priestly, seen as a fictionalised depiction of Anna Wintour, the editor-in-chief at Vogue, where Weisberger was once a former assistant.
