The Avengers sets second box office record

Superhero flick The Avengers has topped the U.S. and Canadian box office for a second consecutive week, taking in $103.2 million.
The movie is the first in Hollywood history to make more than $100 million during its second weekend.
It is the film’s second record after it broke U.S. opening weekend records with takings of $207.4 million.
The blockbuster is based on a host of Marvel comic book characters and stars Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson and Marc Ruffalo.
Globally, it is expected to have hit the $1 billion mark over the weekend.
