Stars perform at Queen's Diamond Jubilee concert

  • Sir Elton John, Kylie Minogue and Sir Paul McCartney were among the stars to perform at the Queen's Diamond Jubilee concert outside Buckingham Palace.

Hundreds of thousands gathered on The Mall and nearby St James’ Park in London to mark the Queen's 60-year reign.

Queen Elizabeth II was sat in the Royal Box beside Prince Charles, his sons Prince William and Prince Harry and other members of the Royal Family.

The Duke of Edinburgh was unable to attend the event after being taken to hospital with a bladder infection.

Other performers included Sir Tom Jones, Dame Shirley Bassey, Black Eyed Peas singer Will.I.Am and Stevie Wonder.

The star-studded concert was a joint venture between the BBC and Gary Barlow, who co-wrote Sing, the official song for the Diamond Jubilee.

The evening ended with the Queen lighting one of 4,500 beacons across the world.
