Skyfall has become the first James Bond movie to cross the billion-dollar mark.
The latest 007 outing, released to celebrate the secret agent's 50th cinematic anniversary, surpassed $1 billion at the worldwide box office over the Christmas holiday period.
Skyfall has earned $289,600,000 at the U.S. box office and $710,600,000 from international box offices.
It is the first Bond movie to achieve the landmark during its original release period.
The film, directed by Sam Mendes, is expected to increase its takings further when it opens in China in the New Year.
The previous highest-grossing Bond film was Casino Royale, which earned $596,365,000 worldwide following its release in 2006.
