Sitara Devi, legendary Kathak dancer from India, dies

Legendary Indian dancer Sitara Devi has died at the age of 94, according to media reports.
She had been diagnosed with a kidney ailment and undergone surgery this month in a Mumbai hospital.
An exponent of Kathak, a classical dance form of India, Devi was born in Calcutta, but shifted to Mumbai at an early age. As a leading Kathak dancer she helped in bringing the dance form to the Hindi film industry.
In a message on Twitter, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the Madhya Pradesh state chief minister, described Devi as a “queen among dancers.”
