Shirley MacLaine receives AFI Life Achievement Award

Oscar-winning actress Shirley MacLaine has been honored with the American Film Institute's (AFI) Life Achievement Award for her roles in movies such as Terms of Endearment, Steel Magnolias and Postcards from the Edge.
The Los Angeles-based AFI is a leading film education and preservation group.
MacLaine is the AFI award's 40th recipient.
Past honourees have included Jack Nicholson, Sidney Poitier, Steven Spielberg, Meryl Streep and MacLaine's brother Warren Beatty.
