Rowling's Alter Ego
July 16 , 2013
The fictitious name that JK Rowling used instead of her own had a bio which said that the author had spent several years with the Royal Military Police.
Rowling had created a complete back story for her alter ego, who in turn found himself being investigated. The reason for this is that military service claims that are fake could prove contentious and it's illegal to profit from them. It's ironic, however, to think that Rowling would have profited more if she had published the novel under her own name.
Since this revelation has become public, the sales of her new novel The Cuckoo's Calling have exploded and it's even gone out of stock online.
