Pulitzer-winning poet Mark Strand dies

American poet Mark Strand, a winner of the Pulitzer Prize for poetry, has died at the age of 80, media reports say.
He was reportedly suffering from cancer.
The works of the former US poet laureate were translated into at least 30 languages.
Born in Canada, he spent his childhood in the US and South America. His first collection ‘Sleeping With One Eye Open” got published in 1964, the title a reflection of his anxiety over the Cold War.
His 1998 collection ‘Blizzard of One’ won him the Pulitzer.
