Pet Shop Boys' Turing tribute unveiled

  • The Pet Shop Boys have showcased their latest work, a tribute to Alan Turing, the British wartime codebreaker, at Albert Hall, London.

The “musical biography,” included as excerpt from the government’s public apology in 2009 for Turing’s conviction in 1952 for homosexuality.

'A Man from the Future' was narrated by Juliet Stevenson and got a standing ovation. The Pet Shop Boys were inspired by a docu-drama titled Britain's Greatest Codebreaker.

Turing, who was prosecuted for gross indecency, committed suicide in 1954.
