Canadian filmmaker Paul Almond, who directed the landmark television documentary 'Seven Up!', has died at the age of 83.
He had recently suffered a heart attack, media reports said.
The 40-minute documentary about a group of children in the UK was later made into the Up series.
'Seven Up!', a black and white film, looked at class in Britain by asking questions to seven-year-olds belonging to different social and economic backgrounds.
Almond’s other works included a film trilogy on mystical subjects, and a television version of Macbeth.
