Next James Bond film to be released within three years

  • The next James Bond movie is to be released within three years, according to movie studio MGM.

The announcement follows a conference call on Tuesday between investors and MGM Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Gary Barber, who said the studio was developing the screenplay for the 24th movie in the 50-year-old franchise about the British spy.

He added he hoped to announce a new director after Sam Mendes revealed last month he would not be directing the next 007 flick.

Barber gave no details on casting but stated that Daniel Craig has been already signed on for two more films in the lead role.

The 2012 Bond film Skyfall earned $1.1 billion at the global box office.
