Morrissey cancels remaining U.S. tour dates due to illness

  • British singer Morrissey has been forced to cancel the rest of his concerts in the U.S., his publicist said on Sunday.

The ex-Smiths frontman has recently suffered from a number of illnesses, including a bleeding ulcer, Barrett's oesophagus and double pneumonia.

The 53-year-old, who was due to perform at Liberty Hall in Kansas later today, has canceled 22 shows.

Earlier this year, the singer called off 21 gigs due to poor health.

His publicist added that fans would be refunded for the remaining concerts.

Morrissey, who led indie band The Smiths in the 1980s, was treated in a Michigan hospital in January for a bleeding ulcer.
