Miss China crowned Miss World 2012

  • Miss China, a 23-year-old music aficionado who wants to help the poor, has been crowned Miss World 2012 at a ceremony in China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

    Dressed in a glittering blue evening gown, Yu Wenxia beat a record 115 contestants in the annual international beauty pageant.

    China last won the Miss World title in 2007, when model Zhang Zilin took the crown.

    Sophie Moulds, a 19-year-old business student from Wales, came in second place followed by Jessica Kahawaty, a 23-year-old law student from Australia.
