Mexican author Carlos Fuentes dies at the age of 83

Mexican author Carlos Fuentes has died at the age of 83.
Fuentes is renowned as one of Latin America’s most prolific writers.
His most famous works were The Death of Artemio Cruz and The Old Gringo.
Fuentes died in a hospital in Mexico City. The cause of death is unknown.
The son of a diplomat, Fuentes was born in Panama in 1928 and did not move to Mexico until the age of 16.
He spent much of his childhood growing up in the Western Hemisphere, which he said enabled him to objectively view Latin America.
