Maurice White, founder of soul group Earth, Wind & Fire, dies

  • Maurice White, the founder of soul group Earth, Wind & Fire, died in the US at the age of 74. The singer-songwriter, who was suffering from Parkinson’s disease, died in his sleep in Los Angeles. White was diagnosed with the disease in 1992; however, his condition became worse in recent months. The group has sold more than 90 million albums around the world.
