American actor Leonard Nimoy, best known for playing the role of Mr Spock in 'Star Trek', has died aged 83.
He had been suffering from chronic lung disease, reports said.
Though Nimoy had a long stint in the entertainment industry both as an actor and a director, it’s his portrayal of the half-Vulcan, half-human character in the TV and film series 'Star Trek' that made him a cult figure.
Tributes to Nimoy came from far and wide, with George Takei, a fellow actor in 'Star Trek', describing him as an “extraordinarily talented man” and “a very decent human being”.
