Lady Gaga visits Julian Assange in London

  • Lady Gaga has visited WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, where he has been granted diplomatic asylum.

Gaga, 26, was in the UK to unveil her new fragrance, Fame by Lady Gaga at iconic department store, Harrods.

She was reportedly invited to visit Assange by British musician M.I.A. on Sunday.

A day later, the pop star had dinner with the Australian activist.

Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, did not comment on her meeting with Assange. However, she did post a photo of herself standing next to him on her Little Monsters social networking site.

Assange, who faces extradition to Sweden over alleged sexual offences, took refuge in the Ecuadorian Embassy in June. He denies any wrongdoing.

Assange fears Sweden will hand him over the U.S. because of his website's publication of confidential documents.
