'L.A. Law' Emmy award-winning actor Richard Dysart dies aged 86

  • Emmy award-winning US actor Richard Dysart, perhaps best remembered for his role as partner Leland McKenzie in the popular NBC TV show ‘L.A. Law’, has died aged 86.

    Dysart, who also acted in the 1972 Broadway production of ‘That Championship’, was suffering from a long illness, reports said.

    He got four consecutive Emmy nominations for ‘L.A. Law’ and eventually won the award in 1992.

    He played the role of presidents and other authority figures in telefilms such as ‘Day One’ and ‘Truman’, and was known for his portrayal of doctors.
