Johnny Winter, legendary guitarist, dies

  • Johnny Winter, the legendary blues guitarist, who collaborated with the likes of Jimi Hendrix and Muddy Waters, has died at the age of 70.

    Born in Texas in 1944, he released 18 albums. Seeing Winter perform in 1968 during a show, Larry Sepulvado and John Burks, who were writers for the Rolling Stones, signed him to Columbia Records.

    Winter worked with Waters as a producer and their collaboration produced three Grammy nominations, for Hard Again, I’m Ready, and King Bee.
