John Lennon comments on last Beatles album

  • The Beatles split was announced in 1970 but no one really knew how bad things had really gotten.

An interview with John Lennon recorded the year before that sheds some light on the group's situation.

Lennon talked with Village Voice critic Howard Smith along with Yoko Ono after recording "Let It Be" with the group.

He mentioned that they had been going through hell. "We often do. It's torture every time we produce anything."

Lennon said the group members contended with each other and there was a lot of tension in the recording studio.

This interview had been forgotten for about for four decades but is now going up for auction. It's expected to be sold for up to $10,000
