Japanese actor Ken Takakura dies

  • Legendary Japanese actor Ken Takakura has died at the age of 83.

    He was diagnosed with lymphoma.

    Labelled Japan’s “Clint Eastwood,” he acted in many action and yakuza films. He co-starred with Michael Douglas in Black Rain in 1989

    His popular films, include The Railway Man and The Yellow Handkerchief. He also played the lead role in ‘Riding Alone for Thousands of Miles,’ a 2005 film directed by China’s  Zhang Yimou.
