Hollywood legend Lauren Bacall dies

  • Hollywood legend, Lauren Bacall, who rose to fame in the 1940s for her roles in films, such as The Big Sleep has died at the age of 89, as per media reports.

    She also worked in Broadway for which she won Tony awards. In 2009, she was awarded an honorary Oscar.

    In the initial phase of her film career, she did a series of successful movies with her first husband, the Hollywood icon Humphrey Bogart. Continuing to act till late in her life, Bacall secured an Oscar nomination for her role in The Mirror Has Two Faces (1996).
