September 9 , 2012
A bible that once belonged to Elvis Presley has sold for $94,000 at an auction in Greater Manchester, England.
The book was gifted to the singer by his Uncle Vester and Aunt Clettes for his first Christmas at his Graceland home in 1957.
It contains annotations written by Presley, who died on 16 August 1977 at the age of 42.
The bible was among more than 100 lots of Elvis memorabilia on sale at the Omega Auctions in Stockport.
The items were sold by a British collector who is selling a quarter of his collection.
The winning telephone bidder was an unidentified American man based in the United Kingdom.
