Daft Punk single breaks Spotify record

  • A new single released by Daft Punk has broken Spotify’s streaming records.

Get Lucky, the dance duo’s first new single in eight years, had the biggest streaming day for a single track in the U.S. and U.K. after its release on Friday.

The Swedish online music site has not yet released the number of streams for the track, which features singer and rapper Pharrell Williams.

Daft Punk broke the one-day streaming record held by British band Bastille's single Pompeii in the UK.

Thrift Shop, a single by Seattle-based rapper Macklemore, held the record in the U.S.
