Cliff Richard cancels performance at charity event

  • Singing legend Cliff Richard, who faces an allegation of a three-decade-old sexual assault, has cancelled a performance at a charity event, according to media reports.

His spokesperson said that Richard did not “want the event to be overshadowed by the false allegation.” The performance was scheduled for September 26 at Canterbury cathedral.

Richard’s apartment was searched by police last week in relation to the sexual assault allegations. The 73-year-old singer was in Portugal when the police carried out the search.
