'Birdman' wins top honors at Oscars

  • ‘Birdman’ won four awards, including best picture and best director, at the Oscars, with the much-acclaimed 'Boyhood' winning only one award as the best supporting actress award went to Patricia Arquette.

    Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu is the second Mexican in a row to win the Best Director award after Alfonso Cuaron won it for ‘Gravity’ last year.

    ‘Birdman’ also won awards for original screenplay and cinematography. 

    The best actor prize went to Eddie Redmayne for his role in ‘The Theory of Everything’. Julianne Moore was the best actress for ‘Still Alice’.
