Beyonce saves planet with new album
December 18 , 2013
Beyonce shocked the world by releasing her surprise album. She is now also surprising the world by selling hundreds of thousands of copies and saving the planet at the same time.
The singer is not issuing CDs just yet since "there's reason to believe that digital downloads are beginning to erode the need for a massive physical rollout," James West of Mother Jones wrote.
West mentioned that buying the album on iTunes instead of on a CD will result in saving about 40-80 percent of greenhouse gas emissions, depending on the number of consumers who burn their music to physical CDs.
Moreover, the singer saved thousands of promo CDs by not promoting the album.
"This may well be one of the most climate-friendly major studio releases yet," West wrote.
