Beyoncé chosen to sing Star Spangled Banner at Obama's inauguration

  • R&B songstress Beyoncé Knowles has been chosen to sing the national anthem at U.S. President Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony on January 21.

    The performer along with her husband, rapper Jay-Z, has been a major donor to Obama's campaign.

    Four years ago, Knowles sang Etta James' At Last at the Neighbourhood Inaugural Ball.

    Country singer Kelly Clarkson is to sing her rendition of My Country, 'Tis of Thee.

    James Taylor, who sang at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina, in August, will perform America the Beautiful.
