Ben Affleck reveals he almost directed Homeland

  • Hollywood star Ben Affleck revealed on Wednesday that he turned down an offer to direct Homeland, adding that he now cannot bring himself to watch the critically acclaimed show.

Affleck passed on an offer to direct the pilot as it was his turn to look after the kids while his actress wife Jennifer Garner worked.

Affleck told the story as he received a Career Achievement Award at the Casting Society of America's annual Artios Awards.

"I was sure nothing would happen with the show," the Hollywood Reporter quoted the father-of-three as saying.

Homeland has emerged as a major hit for U.S. network Showtime.

It recently won Emmys for its stars Damian Lewis and Claire Danes and took home the award for Outstanding Drama Series.
