Beatles rarities coming to iTunes

  • The Beatles took years to arrive on iTunes but this treat could make up for the wait: Fifty-nine rare tracks including BBC performances, demos, and more.

Beatles blogger Roger Stormo mentioned that Apple Records never wanted to release the track but wanted to "retain the copyright of this material."

According to new EU rules, material is free of copyright if it hasn't been released for more than 50 years. On the other hand, the time period is 70 years for released material.

Industry insiders said there might be more of such recordings released every year.
