Amy Winehouse play to open in Denmark

  • A play based on the life of Amy Winehouse is to open at the Danish Royal Theater in Copenhagen next January.

It will feature music from the British jazz singer's two studio albums Frank and Back To Black.

Organizers said the performance would focus on "the enormous pressure a sensationalist public put on a young superstar when her problems began".

A spokesperson for the Winehouse family said they have had nothing to do with the production.

The play is based on material from interviews, concerts, letters and song lyrics.

Winehouse was found dead in her London home, aged 27 in July 2011 from alcohol poisoning.
