Yahoo changes logo after 18 years
September 6 , 2013
Yahoo has changed its logo for the first time in 18 years, after a month of teasing and displaying different logos each day.
Chief marketing officer, Kathy Savitt wrote on the company's blog that it looked for a logo that stayed true to the company's roots and embraced the evolution of its products at the same time.
Savitt mentioned the exclamation point will move for three seconds as users arrive at the site.
"It might be an exclamation riding on a Segway, or riding on a pogo stick or swinging on a Tarzan vine," she said.
Yahoo had been showcasing a different logo for each day since the past one month and the one it finally settled on hadn't been a part of the series.
