Woman make 77 cents for every dollar a man makes

  • The gap between the earnings of men and women hasn't changed in a decade. New data shows that women still earn 76.5 cents for every dollar earned by men.

In other words, men who work full-time make $43,300 on average every year while that amount for women is $37,800.

Things get worse when race is taken into account- black women made 69 cents for every dollar that men made and Hispanic women only 58 cents.

Although, females now outnumber males in college, it turns out that education alone is not enough to change these trends. One of the reasons for this could be that women end up working fewer hours than men in order to be able to look after their children.
