US: Trading on NYSE re-opens after 'technical glitch'

  • Trading on the New York Stock Exchange or NYSE resumed after it was suspended for over three hours owing to a technical glitch.

It is not yet clear what caused the problem, but the NYSE has ruled out a cyber attack. Nasdaq and other exchanges did not report any problems and functioned normally.

In a statement, NYSE said that it was doing its "utmost to produce a swift resolution” to the issue. President Obama was briefed about the problem, reports said.
