US: New York's LaGuardia Airport set for $4bn overhaul
July 28 , 2015
US officials have announced plans to rebuild New York’s LaGuardia Airport, which is among the busiest airports in the country.
The $4 billion project, which was unveiled by New York’s Governor Andrew Cuomo, is expected to double the space for airplanes to operate. The first redesigned part of the airport would start operating from 2019.
Customers have often ranked the airport as one of America’s worst, with US Vice-President Joe Biden once comparing it to a “Third World country”.
