US holiday home rental site Airbnb adds Cuba to destination list

  • In a further sign of normalizing relations between the US and Cuba, Airbnb, an American holiday rental site, has included Cuba in its destinations list.

Over 1,000 properties in the island nation are listed. Currently, however, only US users can book them.

Airbnb says Cuba had the potential of becoming one of its largest markets in the Latin American region. Kay Kuehne, the company’s regional director, said it was “plugging into an existing culture of micro-enterprise” in Cuba.
