US economy bounces back in spring
July 31 , 2014
The United States economy appears to have bounced back in spring, with a growth of 4% annually in the second quarter, better than many analyst predictions.
Consuming spending, exports, and business investments have all strengthened.
Further, revised numbers released by the Bureau of Economic Analysis show that the economy had contracted at a 2.1% rate in the January-to-March period, and not 2.9% as earlier reported.
The second half of last year was also stronger than earlier reports had indicated.
