Uber fined $7.3m in California for 'withholding data'

  • A judge in California has fined cab booking app Uber $7.3 million for not giving sufficient information to regulators about its operations and service. The judge at the regulator, California Public Utilities Commission, said the company had not filed all reports as required by it.

The San Francisco-based firm had withheld details such as those linked to accidents, according to regulator. It was also accused of not providing information on the frequency of access it provided to disabled passengers. Uber said it would appeal against the ruling.
