TurboTax linked to campaigning against free, simple tax filling

Community leaders have been against the IRS setting up a simple, online tax tool that could fill people's forms automatically using information that government has on file already.
For instance, Rabbi Elliot Dorff said he "shudders at the impact this program will have." He mentioned that he heard about the idea from a former student who didn't mention that she worked for a firm linked to the makers of TurboTax.
"I wish she would have told me that," Dorff said. Similar, many other writers weren't aware that they were being manipulated by tax industry forces. Intuit has been lobbying against the system for several years. The idea, if implemented could reduce tax prep to a five-minute job for about 40 percent of American people.
