Trump Signs Executive Order to Start Reining in H-1B Visa Program
April 18 , 2017
As per reports, US President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Tuesday in order to begin reining in the H-1B visa reform.
Four department heads were tasked to suggest reforms in order to be sure that H-1B visas are given to the highly skilled petitioners.
Reports also say that the annual quota of H-1B visas is 85,000. Around 199,000 applications were reportedly received this year.
However, Chuck Schumer, the Senate Minority Leader, mentioned that Trump's policies are more in favor of the CEOs than the workers.
