Japanese giant Toyota is building a $1-billion plant in Mexico, thus ending a three-year break from further expansion, the car maker has announced.
The company is also adding a new production line to a plant in China, it said.
The Mexican plant will be built in Guanajuato state and employ around 2,000 workers, the company said.
The world’s biggest car maker has issued several recalls in recent years, the most recent one being in October.
