Toyota recalls 6.4M vehicles
April 10 , 2014
After Mazda's recent recall, Toyota is calling back 27 of its models totaling 6.4 million. Reports suggest that 3.5M of them have troublesome driver's-side airbags and turning the steering wheel can result in the airbag not inflating.
Moreover, about 2M vehicles have issues regarding seat rails and 160k of them need new wiper motors. These issues haven't resulted in any deaths that the company is aware of but this is the fifth recall it has made in the last few months.
Toyota made a $1.2B settlement with the Justice Department last month.
