Toyota, Nissan recall 6.5 million cars over 'potentially faulty airbags'

  • Japanese car-makers Toyota and Nissan have recalled about 6.5 million cars worldwide to replace airbag inflators manufactured by Takata that may be faulty.

While Toyota is recalling nearly five million cars, Nissan is recalling some 1.56 million cars, reports said.

Toyota models being recalled include the Vitz and Corolla, made from March 2003 to November 2007.

Both car companies said that no injuries or accidents had been reported and the cars were being recalled for investigative reasons.
