Tokyo is no longer world's most expensive city
March 5 , 2014
The Economist Intelligence Unit rated Tokyo as being the most expensive city last year. It's ranking dropped out of the top five since the cost of living in other cities increased.
Singapore was rated No. 1 due to its strong currency and the BBC noted that the region is also the most expensive place to shop for clothes.
Out of the 131 cities, Oslo, Paris, Zurich, and Sydney made it to the top five. According to researchers, Singapore's top rank isn't a spectacle considering that the climb was quite steady. The cheapest cities included some major ones in India such as Mumbai and New Delhi.
