Three more top retailers experience a data breach

The CEO of Target mentioned that the hackers had placed their malware right where the customers slid their payment cards. Greg Steinhafel said the company "eliminated the malware in the access point" and "day two was really about initiating the investigation work and the forensic work."
After there were reports about the hack, which affected Neiman Marcus, it was found that three more top retailers in the US were breached as well. Details are still hazy but there's reason to believe that the same Target hackers could be behind the other scams as well.
Experts said the hackers may have used RAM scraping, which lets them collect data in its encrypted form when it's fed into the computer in plain-text.
