Tesla reports mounting losses, but deliveries shoot up

  • Electric car maker Tesla has reported a $74.7 million loss in the third quarter, more than double compared to last year.

But the firm’s shares were up by 5% in after hour trade thanks to its record deliveries. It delivered 7,785 Model S cars in the third quarter, a 41% rise from the corresponding period last year.

Tesla has, however, lowered the total car sales forecast for the year, putting the figure at 33,000.
