Tesco boss Philip Clarke to step down in October
July 22 , 2014
Philip Clarke, the boss of Tesco, Britain’s biggest supermarket, will step down in October after another profits warning was issued.
Tesco has warned that for the first half of 2014, sales and profits would be lower than expected.
Tesco Chairman Sir Richard Broadbent said Clarke had “achieved a great deal across all areas of the business in the face of considerable pressures.”
Dave Lewis, who heads Unilever's personal care business, has been named as Clarke's replacement as chief executive.
